**Hello,**

My name is **Olakunle** and I’m currently a Software Engineering student at Carleton University in Canada. I’m preparing to apply for Google Summer of Code 2026 and I wanted to introduce myself to the community.

My primary focus is **backend development** and as of recent, my programming experience has been **Java**. I’m also currently expanding my skills by learning **Spring Boot** and **SQL databases**. I also hava tiny bit of experinece in **React** as well.

This will be my first time participating in GSOC and also my first time contributing to open source projects. My main goals are to become better in my development skills, like Java and the Spring boot ecosystem, and at at the same time becoming more familiar and comfortable with React as well. This is why i believe **OpenElis** will be a good fit for me as I believe the projects will help me grow as a developer and prepare me for a good coop opportunity in third year of Uni.
