Hi everyone!

I’m a second-year B.Tech student interested in contributing to OpenELIS Global and exploring the possibility of working with the community for GSoC 2027.

My background includes full-stack development , java , docker and C++and working with open-source projects. I’ve previously contributed to MIT App Inventor, Jitsi, and Img2Num, so I’m familiar with Git-based workflows, issue tracking, code reviews, and collaborating with maintainers.

I’ve started exploring the OpenELIS Global 2 repository and am currently setting up the development environment to understand the codebase and its architecture.

I’d love to know where a new contributor should begin. Are there any beginner-friendly or currently high-priority issues that would be suitable for someone getting started? I’m particularly interested in making meaningful contributions, understanding the project’s engineering practices, and gradually taking ownership of a problem.

Looking forward to learning from the community and contributing!

Thanks!
