Thank you for sharing the GSoC 2026 timeline and guidelines.
I am currently preparing my proposal for the “Improve Integration Tests Coverage” project in OpenELIS Global. To get familiar with the codebase, I have been contributing by adding unit and integration tests across multiple modules.
I have opened a few pull requests and would really appreciate any feedback or suggestions when you have time:
Hi @Moses_Mutesasira thanks for all the updates and guidance.
I’m planning to apply for the **Modernizing the OpenELIS React Frontend with TypeScript and Performance Optimization.
I’ve been going through the codebase and have a few PRs open mostly around TypeScript improvements, performance optimizations, and error handling.
Could you please have a look, I would really appreciate any feedback on the contributions.
Hi Moses_ Mutesasira
I am a passionate Java Backend Developer with a strong interest in building scalable and efficient server-side applications. I have experience working with Java, object-oriented programming, and backend development concepts, along with a growing understanding of open-source collaboration.
I am participating in GSoC 2026, where I am actively contributing to the OpenELIS Global project. Currently, I am working on the issue “Add more data points on the validation screen” (#2893), focusing on enhancing data visibility and improving the validation workflow for better usability and accuracy.
Through this contribution, I aim to improve system efficiency, data clarity, and user experience while gaining deeper insights into real-world, large-scale open-source healthcare systems.
I will be submitting my GSoC 2026 proposal very soon. @Moses Mutesasira
I am currently preparing my GSoC 2026 proposal for the project “Creating a Generic Robust Reporting Framework” in OpenELIS Global. The idea of enabling users to generate ad-hoc patient reports directly from the UI is something I find very impactful, and I’m excited to contribute to it using technologies like React, TypeScript, Java, Spring, and REST.
To better understand the codebase and align my proposal with project needs, I have been actively contributing to OpenELIS. I’ve raised a couple of pull requests and would really appreciate your feedback whenever you have time:
I would be grateful for any suggestions on how I can improve my contributions and better align with the expectations for this project. Additionally, any guidance regarding the proposal direction or key areas to focus on for the reporting framework would be extremely helpful.
