I’m Vishal Sharma, currently pursuing a Bachelor’s in Technology from the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Nagpur, India. I’ve worked on various open-source projects and interned with multiple tech startups, gaining experience in building and maintaining software.
My journey with OpenELIS started when I was exploring open-source organizations and came across a Jira issue related to removing single submenus. I decided to give it a shot, and although I was new to the codebase, the mentors were incredibly supportive, which made the onboarding process much easier.
After solving that initial issue, I started contributing more—fixing bugs, improving the UI, and gradually becoming more familiar with the codebase. As I learned, I also tried to help others in the community whenever possible.
I’m truly grateful for this recognition and excited to continue contributing, learning, and growing with the OpenELIS community
