Test server to production question

Hello all!

We are going to install the newer version of OpenElis and begin testing on it next week. We would like to be able to migrate that into a production server if all testing goes well. That being said- what is the suggested setup if our end goal is production with a HA environment? I don’t want to install this and then have to reinstall again in 90 days!

Thanks and Hi Casey!

Phil

Hi Phil!

That’s a great question!

The setup itself is going to be about the same. You can use the basic install to start with (Install OpenELIS Global - OpenELIS Global Documentation), then do some extra configuration to do the HA setup, which streams the changes from one DB to the DB on a second OpenELIS instance. So, in case the first one goes down, you just have to update the DNS entry to point to the new server to continue working. (Setup High Availability Failover - OpenELIS Global Documentation)

Please let me know if you have any other questions!

Best,
Casey
