Introducing the implementers Call and inviting the community into the conversation

Hi everyone :waving_hand:

We’re looking at starting an OpenELIS Implementers Call a space for implementers, contributors, and community members to come together, share experiences, showcase work, discuss challenges, and learn from each other.

We’re proposing 22 October for the first call.

We’d like to use the first session to introduce the initiative and showcase some of the work happening across the OpenELIS community.

More details and the agenda will follow soon.

Looking forward to getting this started! :globe_showing_europe_africa:

Update: OpenELIS Implementers Call details :tada:

Thanks for the interest so far! Here are the details for the first call.

:spiral_calendar: Date: Thursday, 22 October 2026
:alarm_clock: Time: 5:00 PM UTC (8:00 PM in Kampala and Nairobi, convert to your local time)
:round_pushpin: Where: Zoom: join the call

What it is: a monthly community call for implementers, lab staff, developers, and contributors to share how they run OpenELIS, discuss the challenges they face, and help shape upcoming releases.

First session: we’ll introduce the initiative and showcase work from across the community, including this year’s Google Summer of Code projects. @tasksolver @ELAI @Manroop_Singh

After that, each call will include implementer experiences, open discussion of issues and workarounds, and a chance to share feature requests for future releases.

How you can take part:

  • Present a deployment story, integration, or customization
  • Bring a problem and get input from peers
  • Suggest a feature or a topic for a future call

Reply here with anything you’d like on the agenda.

Please help spread the word. If you know other implementers or site teams who would benefit, invite them to join.
