Student Introduction 2026 : Naman Jain

Hi everyone!

I’m Naman Jain, a third-year Computer Science student from Bhilai Institute of Technology, Durg (India). I came across OpenELIS while exploring GSoC 2026 organizations and the TypeScript + Performance Modernization idea immediately caught my attention.

A bit of context on why this project feels personal to me — I’m currently building a Laboratory Information System from scratch as a side project. It’s a multi-tenant SaaS platform covering sample workflows, TAT tracking, role-based portals for receptionists, technicians, and doctors, so I have a reasonable understanding of what lab staff actually deal with day to day. That’s part of what drew me here — I can see exactly the kind of UI pain points that better performance and type safety would address.

Tech-wise, I work with React, TypeScript, TanStack Query, and REST APIs regularly, which aligns well with what this project needs.

I’ve already forked the repo, got the project running locally, and started exploring the codebase. Found a few good-first issues I’m planning to pick up this week.

Looking forward to learning from the community and hopefully contributing something useful. Happy to receive any guidance on where to start or what the mentors would find most helpful from a proposal perspective!

Thanks :folded_hands:
Naman
