My name is Prashant Ambati, and I’m a Computer Science graduate with a strong interest in open-source development and healthcare software systems. I recently started exploring OpenELIS and found the project really impactful and meaningful, especially in how it supports laboratory information management and real-world healthcare workflows.

I’m here to learn more about the project, understand the codebase, and contribute wherever I can—whether that’s through code, documentation, testing, or discussions. I’m also planning to apply for GSoC 2026, and I’d love to grow by working with the community and contributing consistently over time.

Hi everyone,

I’m Lithin, a backend developer specializing in Java and Spring Boot. I recently built “Sentinel,” a custom API Gateway that handles rate limiting and traffic management using Redis.

I am interested in contributing to OpenELIS Global for GSoC 2026. Given my background in building robust APIs and scalable microservices, I’m looking forward to diving into the backend architecture here.

I am currently setting up the Docker development environment and exploring the codebase to understand the current API structure.

Hello, my name is Hasan Ravda.

I am a 3rd year student with strong experience in Java and Spring Boot on the backend and modern frontend technologies like Next.js and React. My core strength lies in building scalable, clean, and production ready applications with proper architecture and performance considerations.

On the backend side, I have worked extensively with Java, focusing on object oriented design, multithreading, collections, and JVM fundamentals. With Spring Boot, I have built RESTful APIs, implemented authentication using JWT, worked with Spring Security, handled exception management, and integrated databases like PostgreSQL and MySQL using JPA and Hibernate. I also understand concepts like transaction management, ACID properties, caching using Redis, and API gateway architecture.

On the frontend, I use Next.js to build server side rendered and SEO friendly applications. I am comfortable with routing, API integration, state management, and building responsive UI components. I understand the difference between CSR and SSR and when to use each for performance optimization.

I have also worked with databases like PostgreSQL and MongoDB, and I focus on writing optimized queries and understanding indexing strategies. Additionally, I am familiar with cloud basics and deployment workflows.

My name is Pane. I am a 3rd-year Computer Science student at the University of Skopje (UKIM) in Macedonia.

I have been studying the OpenELIS Global-2 project, especially the Constitution and the Testing Roadmap. I really like your Layered Architecture and I want to help you maintain these high standards.

My Technical Background:

  • Backend: I am experienced with Java and Spring Boot. I also know Node.js and I am comfortable building and working with APIs.

  • Frontend: I work with React for the frontend.

  • Database: I am familiar with PostgreSQL, which I see you use here.

Why I want to help: I have a big interest in Software Testing. I understand that in medical software, automated tests are a must for patient safety. I want to help the project reach its goal of 80% backend code coverage.

I have already started writing tests for the Sample Management module (Phase 5) on my local branch to get familiar with the workflow. I’m excited to learn more from the community and contribute to this great project!

Hello everyone,

I’m Libin Faby, a software developer working in healthcare for the past two years. I’m currently a core maintainer of the LIS at my company, where we build healthcare solutions across embedded systems, desktop, web, and mobile platforms.

A big part of my journey has been working directly with laboratories. I’ve visited labs to integrate our LIS with analyzers, handled HL7, ASTM, and custom protocols, and worked through the practical challenges of networking and data flow. Seeing how analyzer data turns into patient reports has made the responsibility very real for me.

I strongly believe healthcare software is not just about code it directly affects patient care. That’s why open, transparent, and community driven systems matter to me. I’m excited about contributing to OpenELIS through Google Summer of Code and being part of a community building reliable healthcare technology.

Hi there! I’m Sofiane, a software engineering student and AI researcher who specializes in data engineering and backend systems.

I’ve developed and implemented a number of real-world applications, from cloud storage and AI-powered search to collaborative platforms and healthcare-style coordination systems. I worked with relational and NoSQL databases, optimized data pipelines, maintained scalable services with Docker and CI/CD workflows, and designed REST APIs thanks to these projects.

In addition to development, I work on training neural networks over encrypted data as part of my research on privacy-preserving machine learning.
