Hello everyone,
I am Ishank, currently a final-year student from India. I have a deep interest in backend engineering. I enjoy working with Java and Spring Boot and building scalable systems.
I’m particularly drawn to its architecture and the challenge of maintaining robust, secure data systems. I’m excited to start contributing to OpenELIS Global.
Hello ,
I am Wagima Collins from Uganda , im a medical personnel and self taught programmer.Im looking more into the direction of health informatics.
I have basic knowledge on MERN stack, Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and database.Im interested and excited to be part of this community.
I would love to start contributing starting with beginner-friendly issues, how to set up the openELIS locally and how to reachout to mentors and join openELIS community on slack.
Hello Everyone!
I am Aditya Saini from India, a 3rd year undergraduate student. I have explored MERN stack and have made a few projects using modern frameworks and technologies.
Looking forward to contributing to OpenELIS Global.
Hi!
I am Mouli lohani,I am a CSE student and I know mern stack and i would like to contribute to your organisation
Thankyou.
Hi OpenELIS Community,
My name is Tanay Paul, a 2nd-year Computer Science student.
I am writing to introduce myself as an aspiring contributor for GSoC 2026. I have a strong focus on Java, Spring Boot, and System Design, and I am eager to apply these skills to help improve OpenELIS Global’s public health infrastructure.
I have already located the codebase and documentation. However, I want to be transparent about my timeline: my university semester exams are currently ongoing and will conclude on February 15th.
I am using this time to read the documentation and understand the architecture silently. I plan to start actively picking up issues and contributing code immediately after Feb 16th.
I wanted to introduce myself now so I am not a stranger when I start contributing in a few weeks. Looking forward to working with you all!
Best regards, Tanay Paul
Hello OpenELIS community,
My name is Abdelmaseh, a Backend Engineer working primarily with Java, Spring Boot, and React.
I’ve successfully set up and run OpenELIS locally and started exploring the backend architecture and data flow.
I’m interested in contributing through Google Summer of Code 2026, especially in backend development,
API improvements, data integrity, and architecture-related work.
Important context: I’m currently in mandatory military service.
This means I’m online about 7 days per month and offline the rest.
To handle this, I work in focused sprints: during online periods I push code, review feedback,
and sync with mentors; during offline periods I do deep architecture analysis and design work on paper.
I’m excited to contribute in a way that’s reliable and valuable despite this constraint.
I’d really appreciate guidance on:
- Good first backend issues to start with
- Areas where backend refactoring, documentation, or performance improvements are needed
Looking forward to collaborating with you all.
Thank you!
Hello everyone,
I’m Arpit Ravi, a 2nd-year Information Science student from Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering, India.
I’m currently learning Java and Spring Boot, with a focus on backend development, REST APIs, and working with databases. I’ve been exploring open-source projects to understand how large, real-world systems are built and maintained.
OpenELIS Global stood out to me because of its impact on public health and the scale at which it’s used. I’m especially interested in learning how enterprise-level laboratory systems handle workflows, data integrity, and interoperability.
I’m planning to start by understanding the codebase, setting up the development environment, and contributing to beginner-friendly issues. I’m also interested in preparing for GSoC 2026 and would appreciate any guidance on where I can start contributing meaningfully.
Looking forward to learning from the community and contributing over time.
Thanks!
Hello OpenElis Community,
My name is Vipin, from New Delhi, India, and I have worked over a year as a Software Developer. I am currently pursuing my B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering (2024–2026) at Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, after completing my Diploma in Computer Engineering.
I am particularly interested in participating in Google Summer of Code 2026 with OpenElis and contributing to the community to enhance my skills in backend development while making a meaningful impact on global healthcare through open-source technology.
My primary interests lie in backend development, microservices architecture, REST APIs, and system design. I have hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Security, REST APIs, databases like MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, and tools like Docker, AWS, Git/GitHub, Nginx, and Maven, and I have developed personal full-stack applications such as real-time chat apps (using WebSockets), coding practice platforms, and portfolio management tools with React.js.
I am excited to learn from the experienced OpenElis contributors, and collaborate on impactful projects that improve healthcare accessibility worldwide.
Thank you for the welcome, I look forward to contributing meaningfully and connecting with the community!
