Greetings! My name is Harsha Vardhan Amaraneni, and I am an enthusiastic candidate eagerly looking forward to participating in Google Summer of Code (GSOC) 2024. Currently pursuing my Master’s degree at Wilmington University, I bring to the table over two and a half years of hands-on experience in frontend development, specializing in ReactJS.
Throughout my academic and professional journey, I have cultivated a passion for leveraging cutting-edge technologies to create impactful solutions. My experience in frontend development has equipped me with a deep understanding of ReactJS and its ecosystem, empowering me to develop responsive, intuitive user interfaces that enhance user experiences.
For GSOC 2024, I am particularly interested in contributing to projects that align with my expertise and aspirations. Two projects that have caught my attention are “Improve Responsiveness for OpenELIS 3x” and “Rewrite Admin Page components from JSP to React.” Both projects present exciting opportunities to apply my frontend development skills and make meaningful contributions to open-source initiatives.
The “Improve Responsiveness for OpenELIS 3x” project resonates with me as it aligns with my goal of optimizing user experiences through responsive design practices. My proficiency in ReactJS makes me well-suited to address challenges related to responsiveness and user interface enhancements, thereby improving the overall usability of the OpenELIS platform.
Similarly, the “Rewrite Admin Page components from JSP to React” project intrigues me as it offers a chance to modernize legacy components and leverage the benefits of ReactJS for improved maintainability and performance. My experience in frontend development, coupled with my adaptability and problem-solving skills, positions me as a valuable asset for tackling the complexities associated with this migration.
In conclusion, I am excited about the opportunity to contribute my skills and knowledge to the GSOC 2024 program. I am eager to collaborate with mentors and fellow contributors to drive impactful changes and foster innovation within the open-source community.

I want to work on improving responsiveness for OpenELIS 3x project , and I want to create a proposal. Can I still create a proposal, or am I too late? Can someone please let me know?
Absolutely, you can still submit your proposal. The deadline for submissions is April 2, 2024, for the Google Summer of Code (GSoC).You’ve got some time to craft your proposal. Check out the timeline for more details.

Adding reference to what you have said, I have seen forums in which all organizations stated that you can’t or shouldn’t submit multiple proposals for the same organization. I have also seen the same on YouTube.
I have seen organization mentors state they would directly reject, not sure if by GSoC or the organization.
Yes, it is. I think GSoC itself though the UI allows we should not it seems
another rule is you should not be selected more than twice and
not from russia
. I have seen mentors and contributors stating that you should not.
P.S.: Feel free to explore other organizations such as Wikimedia Foundation, Wagtail, or Open Healthcare Network. These are related to web and are easy.
